In an environment of political uncertainty, the local, general and European elections needed to run smoothly. The printing and mailing of postal and polling station ballot papers and other voting material is a vital part of that; Paragon worked with a specialist service provider to deliver this faultlessly.
What our client needed
The UK’s local elections and the European Elections, held in the UK in early and late May demanded a seamless delivery of both postal and non-postal voting materials. Working with our specialist elections division (DSI), and directly with the client, we needed to meet every milestone with an error free process. The elections required the print and mailing of 13 million Poll Cards and 17 Million ballot papers over the space of 3 weeks. The ballot papers were unique to each region and to each of the 100 councils which required a rigorous approach to data management and quality checking, a service delivered by Paragon in support of our clients.
What we gave them
Paragon built an automated application to process the data and build each personalised document ready for proofing and quality checking. Using intelligent printing and fulfilment techniques we employed leading edge manufacturing technology to meet the strict deadlines required. Proofing and approval was managed using our on-line approval platform providing a transparent audit trail and an error free workflow from receipts of artwork right through to the final sign off.
What was the impact
The end to end production and mailing process was delivered on time, on budget and in full. The quality checking process was managed by Paragon adding a layer of security to every stage.
